Daisy Chain is a small, family run Domiciliary Care agency. Daisy Chain has a close-knit and highly skilled team of twenty carers, all dedicated to supporting older people. The team has over 135 years combined experience. Every team member undertakes a comprehensive training programme which far exceeds national standards. This training is regularly assessed and refreshed.
The carers have all been hand-picked by the manager and have either a level 2 or 3 diploma in Health and Social Care or a Care Certificate. Daisy Chain also has a Home Support team who help with housework, shopping, companionship and meal preparations. All staff have an up to date D.B.S (Disclosure and Barring Service) and are fully insured.
Hello, I am Liz Tonks. I am the Registered Manager/proprietor of Daisy Chain Home Support Ltd. I setup the company in April 2007 and since then, the company has grown from strength to strength. I have over 35 years experience working with older people in a variety of different care settings.
I have worked for the N.H.S, Social Services and private providers in hospitals, residential care homes, nursing homes, day centres, sheltered accommodation and supported living. My passion is supporting older people to remain in their own homes for as long as they wish. Whilst working with older people I have gained a vast amount of knowledge to help our clients fulfill this wish.
I initially decided to setup Daisy Chain Home Support as a Home Help Service but the demand for personal care became apparent, I decided to complete a level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care and become registered with the Care Quality Commission, both of which were achieved in 2014. I am currently completing my Level 6 Diploma in Health and Social care (degree equivalent qualification).
I take an active role in the office, visiting our clients, liaising with other professionals, offering advice and keeping family members updated as well as supporting my team. I feel privileged to have such a fantastic, dedicated team of carers who genuinely do care. Each and everyone of them go above and beyond the call of duty maintaining high standards of care at all times. The team treat their clients as they would expect their loved ones to be treated.
I understand the importance of careful selection and recruitment and therefore hand-pick my team based on their personalities, attitude and experiences.
Rebecca is based in the office and also is a fully trained carer with a Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care. Rebecca prepares client invoices, supports the Registered Manager in client assessments, reviewing and updating clients care plans and liaises with families and local Health and Social care professionals.
Rebecca manages and oversees staff in the absence of the Registered Manager, ensuring all training requirements are up to date and overseeing training, conducting quality assurance checks, conducting face to face reviews with clients, carrying out audits and sharing use of the ‘on call’ office mobile with the Registered Manager. Rebecca and Liz work together to co-ordinate carer rotas and cover. Rebecca hopes to develop her career further with Daisy Chain and is currently completing her Level 6 Diploma in Health and Social care (degree equivalent qualification).
Bobbi has a Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care. Bobbi has many years of experience working with older people as well as those of all ages with learning difficulties.
Bobbi works as carer in the community for Daisy Chain as well as conducting quality assurance checks, supporting the Registered Manager with carer spot checks, conducting carer supervisions, reviewing client satisfaction data and co-coordinating social inclusion events with the events committee. Bobbi also supports the office manager with duties such as invoicing and managing rotas.
Maria has a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care and currently undertaking her Level 5 in Health and Social Care. Maria has many years of experience working with older people and has received an award for 'long service' at Daisy Chain.
Maria supports management by conducting quality assurance checks, carer spot checks, conducting face to face reviews, co-coordinating social inclusion events with the events committee. Maria also supports the Office Manager with duties such as co-coordinating rotas and sharing use of the 'on call' mobile phone.
