Isolation and Loneliness

Daisy Chain specialise in combating isolation and loneliness. Our staff have completed training on isolation and loneliness and are activity involved in encouraging our clients to feel socially included within their community. We have our own social inclusion committee who arrange activities outside the home or inside as appropriate. We have received feedback from relatives who are surprised and pleased their loved ones are getting involved with our events. Our clients are provided with our 'on call' phone number which they are able to ring, should they feel lonely or would just like a chat.

All activities arranged by the committee is fully funded by Daisy Chain Home Support.

For those clients who prefer company in their own homes, this too can be arranged.

Living Wage Employer

We are delighted to share that we are an accredited Living Wage Employer. This means that every member of the team working for Daisy Chain will earn a real Living Wage.

The real Living Wage is higher than the government’s minimum, or National Living Wage, and is an independently calculated hourly rate of pay that is based on the actual cost of living. It is calculated each year and is announced by the Living Wage Foundation as part of Living Wage Week.

Over 9000 organisations, including Daisy Chain, voluntarily choose to pay the real Living Wage because we believe our amazing team deserve it!

Queen's Jubilee

Daisy Chain hosted a fantastic Jubilee tea for all of it's clients. The turnout was the highest in Daisy Chain's history. After the last 2 years of this Pandemic, it was such a delight for team members and clients to finally get together and celebrate the Queen's 70 years on the throne.

Cakes (locally sourced), tea and biscuits were served throughout. One of our client's won a prize for guessing the correct number of beans in a jar and all enjoyed the 'Jubilee' themed quiz. There was even a sing along that completed the afternoon.

A huge thank you to Daisy Chain's amazing team for making this afternoon possible!

Remembrance Day 2020

“I wear a little Poppy, as red as red can be. To show that I remember those who fought for me.”

Marking the day World War One ended at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month 1918.
This year, like most things, Armistice day will be a little different due to COVID-19 but we will all still come together in hearts and minds to remember and be thankful to all of the heroes who have fought for us all. Here at Daisy Chain one of our wonderful Home Carer’s Jayne Read, has handmade individual poppies for all of our clients to wear with pride. We have also made a donation to the Royal British Legion.
